Welcome to Calvary Assembly of God Church

Greetings Friends!

We hope you are doing well today!

Things have been about as busy as they can be for us here. We have just concluded a spin that took us to 4 countries in the past 4 weeks. It began with the wedding of our daughter Jen to RJ Tate (son of Rev. and Mrs. Ray Tate, Pastor’s in Cherry Hill, NJ) at Willow Valley in Lancaster Pennsylvania. What a joyful day it was for us, celebrating with so many friends and family members.

Two days after the wedding, we flew to Costa Rica to participate in a Latin American Youth Leaders Summit. Approximately 7 countries were represented by 250 attendants. Cheryl and I both had the opportunity to present workshops at the event and network with Youth Leaders from several countries.

The following week, I went to Honduras for a similar conference of Denominational leaders and pastors from about 14 different countries. Again, the opportunity to meet and connect with National and missionary leadership from all over Latin America was an unbelievable blessing, helping me to understand the differences of the culture and organizational structure that we work in. As a special bonus, on my flight back to Mexico there were significant delays that turned a 3 hour trip into an all day event. Fortunately, the General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God in Mexico had the same flight, and I had the opportunity to spend the day with him, which was a great experience.

Finally last week we attended yet one more conference in Léon, Mexico. This one attended by about 4,000 Pastors across the country. 4 weeks, 4 countries, 4 completely different styles of food, time zones, financial exchange, and culture.

Thankfully we are now back in Mexico City, a bit dizzy, and glad to be home.

Up ahead we are glad for are more local responsibilities. I’ll be preaching at a District Youth Convention in Durango, Mexico, in a few weeks; we are assisting with the youth ministry here in a local church; and we are continuing our work with local students and leaders in an ongoing mentoring relationship.

God is also opening some unique doors that we are carefully stepping through. We are planning to do a number of leadership training events in a nearby district, and looking into some creative ways to augment Church Planting and Church Growth patterns in Mexico City. As these opportunities become more formal I’ll be able to share more details.

We certainly appreciate your prayers and support. Specifically, we’d ask you to pray that God will touch this great city. In just a few weeks on Nov. 13, Hillsong United will be here for a concert in the Aztec Stadium (where the Mexico Olympics were held). Partner missionaries Ryan and Christie Thomas have undertaken this event and we are believing that it will provide another boost to the Christian community here in the city. Please keep that event in your prayers as well.
