Newsletter For the Men's Ministry for April, 2011

1 Timothy 2 (New King James Version)
1 Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, 2 for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. 3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, 4 who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. 5 For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, 6 who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time, 7 for which I was appointed a preacher and an apostle--I am speaking the truth in Christ and not lying--a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth. 8 I desire therefore that the men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting; 9 in like manner also, that the women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with propriety and moderation, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or costly clothing, 10 but, which is proper for women professing godliness, with good works.
The Men's Ministry had a very successful Men's Breakfast on March 26th. Pastor Nick was the chef who prepared blueberry pancakes and bacon for the twenty members who attended. There was great fellowship, and I thank all the men who attended. There is a suggestion we do this again. If you have any feedback please let me or Pastor Nick know.
The Men's Ministry held its monthly meeting on April 3rd. The topic under discussion was how to get the men interested in personal outreach as there is nothing more important. It was suggested that there is a need for personal visitation for the men not able to get out due to infirmary. It was suggested that we could set up teams and assign men to visit our shut-ins sometime during the month. The men who could use a visit include Richard Wolf, Jack Jaynes, John Ciotti, and Pastor Eastlake.
Would you be prepared to visit a member of the assembly during the month with another member of the Men's Ministry?
The National Day of Prayer is Thursday May 5th. Please remember this date and if possible, make a time of fasting for our nation. We need to pray for our national leaders who have the charge of keeping us safe and secure so that we may live a quiet and peaceable life which is good in the sight of God, as Paul writes in the scripture given at the top of this newsletter.
Further prayer is needed for our assembly and our leadership and the congregation.
Our next meeting will be on Sunday May 1st at 6PM. Please come and bring a friend, all are welcome.
Yours in Christ,
Men's Ministry Leader
